CAMPUS SUMMARY
Lesley University, a multi-site institution with over 7,500 students, specializes in preparing women and men for professional careers in education, human services, environmental science, and the arts. Since 1909 when the school was founded to train kindergarten teachers, the University has been a leader and innovator in education for the professions that put people first.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Lesley College prepares young men and women for careers that matter and lives that make a difference. Located on a tree-lined, urban residential campus just steps from Harvard Square, and minutes from downtown Boston, Lesley’s 1,100 undergraduates enjoy small classes taught by accomplished University faculty (not graduate students); more than 50 majors, minors and specializations in the liberal arts and the professions (education, human services and management) including an honors program, as well as the opportunity to design your own program of study. Students participate in field-based internships beginning freshman year.
It is this combination of expert faculty, stimulating classes, hands-on learning, career-focused internships; and a wide variety of co-curricular choices that challenges, inspires and prepares students to become catalysts and leaders in their careers and communities. Whether they enter professional careers or pursue further study after graduation, they leave Lesley with a strong commitment to social change, ready to make a difference in the world around them.
As one of five colleges that comprise Lesley University, Lesley College offers the advantages of an intimate learning community with all of the academic and co-curricular resources of a large (10,000 student) university. Lesley College students are able to cross-register for courses in the other schools at Lesley University, including The Art Institute of Boston, or enroll in accelerated bachelor's/master's programs in conjunction with the School of Education, and the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences. In addition, the Lesley Dividend offers qualified Lesley College students a year of free graduate tuition when they continue with a master's degree program at Lesley University
The University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Its teacher certification programs have been approved by the NASDTEC (National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification) Interstate Contract, a reciprocity agreement in which more than forty states have established standards for granting teacher certification.
