Founded in 1948 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, Stonehill's mission is to provide education of the highest caliber, grounded in liberal arts, comprehensive in nature, nurtured by Catholic intellectual and moral ideals and committed to the creation of a just and compassionate world. Stonehill College is a selective, private, New England, Catholic college enrolling 2,100 full-time students. Located in historic Easton, Massachusetts, 20 miles south of Boston, on a 375-acre campus with easy access to Boston, we offer first-rate residence halls which feature large rooms and well-designed layouts. Ranked consistently as one of the top two best regional liberal arts colleges in the North according to U.S. News & World Report in its annual guide of America's Best Colleges, Stonehill's reputation is well known. Student athletes can participate for Stonehill's Division II varsity and intramural sports. With over 60 clubs and organizations ranging from the Accounting Association to our radio station, there are many opportunities to make friends.


UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Stonehill College offers 29 challenging majors in the Liberal Arts (BA), Business (BSBA) and Science (BS) degree programs. With an average size of 22, interactive classes are taught by distinguished faculty--83% have a PhD--who serve as scholars, mentors, role models and friends. Stonehill also affords students the advantage of 35 minor programs as well as the opportunity to double major. We provide first-rate equipment, support services and access to cutting-edge computer technology. In addition, we offer special programs such as 1) SURE--Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience, an innovative program that gives students the opportunity to work closely with faculty conducting major research projects; 2) Honors program designed to enhance and enrich the educational experience of many of our very talented and highly motivated students 3) Internships to gain valuable work experience in major U.S. cities such as Boston, New York, and Washington, DC as well as internationally in Paris, London, Dublin and Zaragoza; 4) Study Abroad spending 4 to 9 months living and studying in another part of the world, and 5) Into the Streets Community Service Program inviting students to lend a hand and extend themselves into our neighborhoods with 12 on-campus service groups and volunteering at over 25 local social service agencies.
